Treasurer Jim Chalmers says the government isn’t contemplating a budget repair levy.

He said the newly-elected Labor government’s first budget will likely be in the second half of October this year.

“We’ve got some proposals around multinational taxes that you’re aware of, we’ve already proposed a $11.5 billion in budget improvements a couple of days before the election,” Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia.

“So, that’s our priority.

“We haven’t been contemplating a budget repair levy.”

No levy is required because unemployment is so low and falling PAYE is pouring in, as are receipts from the high price of iron ore and fossil fuels. The Banks are projecting GDP to rise in the first quarter. The LNP left the economy in excellent shape and the budget expectations are better than projected. Of course, Labor will not give the LNP any credit. Lying is in the DNA of Labor.

Watch 'em blame the previous Gov for braking their pre election promises - notwithstanding Labor already knew about the budget deficit situation during the election campaign.

In the meantime, we are sitting at home having lost our jobs for no reason other than forceful vaccination of a drug that has been developed using a process that raises both ethical, moral and religious consciences.. We have been forgotten and treated like dirt with zero rights.. No income with mortgage and bills to pay, and kicked out of employment. Cannot travel out of the country to secure employment elsewhere and cannot work in the country either. Meanwhile, Businesses have stalled, hurting with labour shortages and empty food shelves for lack of workers, amid soaring labour costs, which translates to inflation prices to everyone. Another own goal. Who makes these silly, thoughtless, unscrutinised policies with bad economic impact?

Who would have though Labor promised no new taxes excluding a potential global guarantee on a minimum tax rate for multinationals. And that is exactly what Labor will do.

Respected Sir/Madam,

This is to bring into your notice the concerns of skill provisional visa 489 applicants who are still waiting for a decision on their visa application lodged for more than 33 months ago. Subclass489 visa superseded by Subclass491 in 2019 doesn't mean that it should be forgotten one. Ever since the Australian Goverment shut the international borders in March, 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Home Affairs(DHA) have halted the processing of 489 offshore visa applications. Please, a humble request to clear SC489 backlog. Most of those applicants have passed the average processing time published on DHA website for this visa category.

Regarts,

Australia's well-wisher and one of the SC489 applicants!
