Hi Henry, A shame your overdrive issue isn't a simple electrical problem. When you get your service parts pay particular attention to the solenoid plunger. My overdrive was reluctant to engage and disengage which is why I ended up servicing mine. The central plunger was gummed up with a black sludge stopping it from moving freely. My own theory is that the solenoid being magnetic, attracts all the mircoscopic metal fragments (the sludge) that are floating around in the oil. As the oil is shared with the gearbox there are many moving parts involved. A really thorough clean up with carb or brake cleaner as John Twist used, cured my problem.
Very impressed with your sewing skills. Not too sure about the sky blue door cards though🤔. I think the first pair of muddy shoes in the footwell will sway your decision!
Was going to mention the plastic membrane that should be behind the door cards, but Gareth beat me to it. Hardboard degrades quickly when it gets damp so the membrane is fairly essential.
Keep up the good work 👍.

I’m impressed Henry! You know your way around a sewing machine! Well done. I couldn’t see in your video but there should be a layer of plastic film over the door inside between the card and the metal frame. This protects the card from moisture. If it’s not there you can use a bin bag. Also make sure the drain holes in the door are open. It would appear that your seat webbing has become quite stretched. If you find the seat too soft, you can get new webbing. You can even add a couple of strips to improve the firmness.

In my experience the seat foam starts to break down and becomes very soft, so you get no support and the seats become uncomfortable and it produces loads of dust as the foam breaks down. I have replaced the seat foams on the drivers side, passenger side is still on the to do list. I believe foam can be rejuvenated with steam. I have my eye on my wife’s steam cleaner to test this out. 1974 BGT.

Looking good if it's any help I've done a few camper vans in the past and the contact glue is best sprayed on both sides before leaving to dry before bringing together have a look at the carpet lining used in campers would look nice in the mg loads of colours and easy to work with seats were better than my 72 I replaced foam webbing and seat covers

The door cart looks nice but from my experience cotton will much quicker react to moist (which you always will have in a GT). In my case the wood behind had to be redone just after a couple of weeks
