Vintage Raleigh Quadra 531 Road Bike Restoration

Raleigh Quadra Mk2 Road Bike Restoration is a Retro Bicycle dates back to 1989. When the Bike came in it hadn't been ridden for years. The Bike was very original and I knew this would make a great restoration project. The Bike is completely stripped down, cleaned, restored and then rebuilt before taken out on the open road for a ride. This bike restoration is all in this one video.

This Vintage Raleigh Quadra Bicycle is a throw back for many because this bike in its day was a very cool bike to have. Many sold in the UK with Reynolds 531 tubing and full Shimano 105 group set made this Raleigh a great bike to ride and even race. The colour scheme on this bike is very typical of the 1980's and a very Retro bike indeed.

The video covers some of the other Raleigh Road bikes we have restored before tackling this one. The Raleigh Record Sprint is completely transformed before the bike is taken out on the open road to ride again and to be enjoyed for many years to come. The restoration video also give's some hints and tips along the way to hopefully help you in your own bicycle restoration projects.

Fascinating stuff! I stiil have and use my Raleigh Elix 14-speed, bought new for £275 in 1989. Much cherished. Saddle and tyres have been changed but otherwise all original. These bikes have a delicacy and elegance that I feel is missing these days.

This was first road bike back in 1989 I loved it, I did ad some upgrades along the way. I was only sixteen years old when I got it and thought I was the bees knees.

Feeling all nostalgic as this was the bike I bought when I first joined a cycling club back in '88. Come to think of it, the first bike I ever bought. Unfortunately it didn't survive an argument with a car! Amazed to see how good a condition it was before restoration. Keep up the good work.

What an awesome looking bike. I've loved Raleigh bikes from a kid starting out with my first bike being a Raleigh. I wish they made them like that today. Gorgeous paint job. Absolutely beautiful!!!!

Wonderful stuff. I have a super rare 1988 Orbit Pro 531c with Campagnolo Chorus groupset, Cinelli bars and stem and Ambrosio Super Elite wheels. Totally original and unrestored. You are an inspiration to keep me looking after the old girl, and these old bikes have a charm which can't be replicated on modern machinery.

The Reynolds 531 frames are just so smooth to ride, I have 4 Treks in 531, two just the main tubes and two with 531 from the front fork to the rear triangle. Always good prospects to bring back to life and restore. And your 105 group set is high quality and very dependable. Thanks for the video.
