My theory is that the zombie virus got into the nether and the piglind somehow got them.Matpat said that the nether was cold before in the past and he supported his theory.The piglins were able to catch it because it wasn’t hot before.

I think piglins have strong immunity system power thats why they dont get infected in the nether, but in the overworld, they get cooler and sick, weakening their immunity and making them vulnerable to the zombie parasite

Maybe because when a player went in the nether a baby piglin was interested with the portal and went in and he was shivering and became a zombified baby piglin

Lightning, if a pig is struck by lightning it becomes a zombified pigging and in the other ones it's the same ( other versions)

One guess that could explain it is because the ancient builders built the Nether portals as we see now as ruined nether portals zombies have probably gone through the portal and bitten almost all piglin and the virus spread through each of there generations but since they still have there memory as a piglin they won't attack piglin but the piglins are scared of them for a reason because they look deformed than they were before and after all the nether portals all the ancient builders built there problems with zombies vanished but the zombie virus still remains on there bodies and once they reach a cold or normal temperature they will start to die and eventually turn into the zombie pigmen

Maybe he starts freezing when reaching the overworld and dies of cold, a proof to that is that when they get in the overworld they start shaking

My theory:When the ancient humans were making ruined portal or finding new dimension (nether) so a asteroid fell on earth with a virus that effect human and they bcm zombie but sme of Zombie went to nether and effected sme of them.

i think that the ruined portals where build by the piglins, because they were probably trying to build them to explore the overworld but when they saw what happens to piglins in the overworld, they quickly started to destroy every portal but some zombified piglins still came back to the nether.And because the piglins probably didnt know much about the overworld they probably thought that they could get infected by the zombified piglins +ruined portals contain gold blocks, armor, weapons and other items which are all related to piglins (This makes even more sense when we look at the Hoglin which also has a Zombified varient but it cant spawn naturally because Hoglins arent able to build nether portals)

MY Theory : When villager started to collect resources and need more and then they discovered another dimension called the neather they tried putting baby slimes only to know that no one came back (they are getting mutated) but a baby slime came back and the villagers think that it's safe and got to the neather collect resources but they found other living forms such as piglins, blazes, ghasts etc however the piglins didn't like that they are stealing the resources of neather and then they started a war only to know when they come in the over world they have became zombified piglins then the villagers immediately send the zombified piglins in the neather and stopped the war by breaking the neather portal leaving neather ruins

This makes sense, as pigs get struck by lightning and turn into zombie picking and not normal pigluns because they get heated by the lightning and cooled instantly after being struck...also I love your theories, they really make sense, and I love that you don't try and know everything and still leave unanswered questions to think about.❤
