Unfortunately, the original Kmart 1973 Reel to Reel video was taken down earlier today. It had 249,169 views and 916 comments, originally uploaded on August 19, 2017. Hopefully I can get the old video back up, but in the meantime this new video will be its replacement.

This is a digitized version of an in-store reel to reel tape that was played within a Kmart store in 1973. In my opinion, the opening Kmart jingle is the most important artifact of this recording, but the music and small number of commercials make it a great listen.

My nearest K-Mart as a kid had their own pizza and it was the best pizza in the whole world! Never had tasted any other quite like it! Wonder it's brand...

I suppose escaping reality by tuning into such music is better than escaping reality by utilizing intoxicating I don't recall if K-Mart sold any alcohol in any of it's outlets.

Kmart could of been top dog still, but they let their store fall apart and look like old crap. Walmart had a cleaner and brighter look so I think ppl switched, now we avoid Walmart hahahahah, too may drug users and thief’s.
