It's actually 420 stainless with a stick tang bud. The reason I know is because I bought one and the handle was loose so I unscrewed the but cap. Whick is just threaded on, and pulled all the leather stacks off of it covered the tang with resin, and put it all back together. Now it's completely solid. Love the knife. Great video.

I just bought the last one at the Canadian Tire near my house because it was on sale for $20 but the guard was loose and so was the stacked leather washers. I think I should return it but I did put some lock-tite on it so hopefully that at leat takes care of the guard, the washers should swelll up to compensate for the looseness in time I suppose. I bought it as a companion knife to do some hacking as I walk through the bush and I have my main knife, a handmade Jeo Tec No. 37 to do everything else. We'll see how the BAK does in time. You should do an update on it.
