F1 2016: PC/PS4/Xbox One Graphics Comparison

Dave goes in-depth with a visual comparison of all three versions of F1 2016. On the console front PS4 offers a resolution advantage - plus higher grade ambient occlusion and motion blur. Meanwhile PC is able to give us a faultless, tear-free 60fps with a number of enhancements in shadow quality and temporal AA.

To be fair, I already knew the conclusion just from looking at the title.
PC wins lol.

Remember 59.9 fps ins't playable, 60 always needed.

Good analysis. This guy actually had balls to say anything under 60fps isn't acceptable.

This is awesome. What are the odds of you guys doing a throwback comparison between Genesis and SNES?

It's ironic that DF's videos are the only ones on Youtube that skip frames and sound for me full screen almost without exception.

Finally a fair comparison that compares all the system out there.

Dave, your description makes it seem that PS4 offers higher res than PC. Had to read twice to be sure I wasn't mad

Peasants be like "graphics and frames per second don't matter until there's a bad PC port! Then we talk a lot of shit!" Peasants make me laugh.

It's like looking at Top quality to Low Quality to Ultra low.

I really wish digital foundry would offer 30mbps+ downloads for their uploads, the god awful youtube compression makes these videos really hard to appreciate

what sort of pc setup would you need to play at 60FPS?, how about doing a video using say an i5 4460 with GTX 970, would be intereted seeing how that compares with consoles

Codemasters has been phoning in the graphics latley. Any one remember the original grid ? The environments were highly detailed, the crowds were full 3d and reacted dynamicaly . The car damage was imo the best second to dirt 2 and it had good Ai .

PC gamers act like they can run any game at max settings with flawless frame rate, but for a ps4 the price is very good for what you get.

Where da deus ex performance review at ?

You know it's kind of funny. GT Sport buggers have been like "The surrounding looks shit" now look at this and how similar it looks on PS4. Graphical juice shouldn't be spent on environment that much where it actually needs to be spent on the Cars. The focus is the cars itself and some nice lighting. Nothing else to where it needs to be open world level detail. You won't even notice it much.

I don't understand why anisoptropic filtering with 16 samples is not the standard on all console games. The improvement in texture quality is very big, but the performance impact is almost negligible, even on low end hardware such as the PS4 and X1.
