Any way to tell if mine is negrone or vdb? My tree which was sold to me as vdb looks exactly like your negrone tree, the figs also look identical to yours. Thanks Lou

I have a Negronne and enjoyed your take on it, since this will be my first season growing figs. I also have a Celeste Fig and they both have fruit growing on them.

Lou could you talk about what you do (soil mix) when you pot a new fig tree.

I got my first Negronne tree and can't wait to taste. Unfortunately the possums have beat me to most of my figs and melons☹️

I still haven't gotten a actual good fig. I've picked 3-4, but they weren't ready. Still decent, but nothing like people describe. I guess I'm lucky to get anything considering it's my first year. I grew Brown Turkey, Chicago Hardy, and 2 Celeste. The Celeste is the only one that really fruited.

Thank you Lou for sharing your fig techniques and valuable experience!
Could you please advise: if I burry plastic pots instead of fabric growbags: would I have any disadvantages?
People say plastic pots retain more water and in grow bags water drains through the sides.
And what is your experience regarding watering figs in growbags during winter storage: do you have to water them more frequently in comparison if they would be stored in plastic pots?

If the pot is fabric do the roots grow straight through the fabric?
