I feel like Warren is Vernon’s guardian angel, and Vernon grew up in an abusive household. When Warren randomly got adopted by Cay and Eugene, he felt he couldn’t leave his friend behind.

While you closed the game, he snuck Vernon into the household to save him, hoping you wouldn’t notice.

But then Allie was alerted of the situation, and since she always wanted to be a mother but couldn’t have children for herself, she happily took in Vernon as her own.

They continue to be the best of buddies. The only thing still sad here is that Vernon will definitely age up before Warren, and therefore will pass before Warren. But better to have a guardian angel with no one to guard than a child without guardian angel ❤

Maybe far fetched, but it’s the only way it makes sense in my mind.


Edit: I also feel like (adding some more tragic lore here) Warren and Vernon would play with void critters together whenever Vernon’s parents fought. They’re nerds in disguise and now finally Vernon can afford some real void critter cards instead of the hologram type stuff Warren would show him.
