Why Japanese Glasses (USUHARI) are so different than regular glasses? It's Paper-thin minimalistic style glass
They are exceptionally thin and light, 0,9 mm, so because of that they get cold faster than regular glass. Usuhari is made by the same manufacturer as light bulbs.
Japanese glasses are expensive and fragile but let expand the visual and taste experience.

Two good combos, a drunk person and a very fragile piece of glass

Ah yes, more expensive and inferior durability. Exactly what I'm looking for in a cocktail glass for drunk people to hold.

But be careful, they're very fragile. *Flashbacks to the drink holder test*

Bartender: "Alright, here's your drink."
Me: "Thanks." *glass breaks*

This is genius, actually. They make the glass very thin so the amount of glass used is low, less weight to transport, it's very thin and fragile so there's always demand for new glasses. What a great scam!

imagine theres 2 pieces of ice but the glass is too thin and fragile so the bottom breaks

I’ve accidentally bonked my teeth on a cup a few times in my life, I can’t fücking imagine doing that to one of these glasses 🥶

Having these glasses just means you have endless disposable income to spend on expensive glasses that break if a feather falls on it

The best feature of these is that the second sip is always warm.

I broke one once by literally just placing it back on the counter/bar top. Which was metal I might add!!!

I actually like the aesthetic that a thick base, on a glass, gives

I feel like a thin, quickly chilled glass is counterproductive. It'll warm up to room temp equally quickly if used to serve a drink up

I broke so many of these when I was a sushi chef my boss started charging us $6 for each broken glass

So, expensive and practically useless. Got it.

Japanese: makes anything, literally anything, even if it’s completely unoriginal

US and Europe: OMG WOW IS THAT SOME ANCIENT TECHNIQUE I MUST OVERPAY SIGNIFICANTLY FOR THIS

That's exactly what you want in a bar - paper thin glass in someone's mouth.

"Usuhari means thin glass, the glass is exceptionally thin"

I'd hope.
