This video is inspired by Defunctland but also the Beauty and The Beast special edition DVD from 2002 which had a terrible game just like this one...
It was basically a long pre-rendered quick-time event where you had to press left or right on your remote to avoid 3D obstacles and you never had enough time to react.
The video would always freeze for a moment to register inputs or display the "you lost a life" video clip of the rose losing a petal, so I wanted to convey the same weird stilted experience and feeling of helplessness here 😁

God, the idea of Jeff actually dying in your DVD, then being reconstructed based on the little data that's left of him, creating a barely familiar, unrecognizable abomination is actually pretty unsettling

honestly i really like this one, the feeling of helplessness as the batteries run out, being told a "new jeff" would be sent to replace the old one only to see it's some strange deformation of what you would consider human with few facial features, it reminded me of playing games as a child and having to helplessly watch my character die when the controller died

I personally love all the game themed one, the sort of weird unnerving aesthetic is NAILED. The audio pauses and obvious pre-rendered cutscenes just bring that perfect amount of unease it’s so good

I love the implications that every DVD has their own unique set of Wiggles that live inside of it that have to be regularly replaced

This emulates the exact feeling of being 6 years old and wanting to skip the scary part of a movie but your guinea pig chewed out the remote control buttons so you want to ask your mom to skip it on the tv but she's in another room and the scary part is very close (my experiences ARE universal)

Somehow the absence of scariness makes it just as scary as a normal video.

You're so good at tapping into the childhood anxiety surrounding things suddenly being out of your control, this reminds me of these nightmares I'd have as a 4 year old where I'd be in a familiar setting with people I knew and start to float up into the sky away from them
