All five of those robots should be saying "We are from the government! we are here to help!"

His team has made huge leaps in such a short time.

Boston Dynamics' Atlas can do backflips, but every action is prescripted. The vision system Tesla is using gives them a huge advantage in actually being practical for doing work.

More knowledgeable video
Thanks for this

Optimus is already helping to build the cybertruck. A factory robot does not need to walk fast. Boston dynamic robots are hydraulic based. Optimus could be built for $3, 000.

Robots specially humanoid robots are very welcome.

Skynet is slowly becoming aware. The Terminator is slowly being made. When will th A.I. decide that man is obsolete.

Tesla can you please start collaborate with Boston Dynamics and manufacture 20 HQ AI BOTS by this summer !!. Thank you

They need rollerblades on their feet that can be activated / deactivated. If I called an employee and they wandered over to me that slow, I would be a bit frustrated.

I think in 2024 we will see more significant progress of optimus. But might not be ready for real applications until 2026. When agi becomes better also

Smart beamed power might help as sooution for power. With beamed power, more onboard space in robot can be given to more elegant and faster movement engineering, and to minimize any risk to people with beamed power it can come from smart power source that self-interrupts if human is too close, but otherwise follows robot to give constant power charge.
I dunno. I'm just making things up from other things I hear about, and have no idea if it can work since I ano robot engineer.

Oh God. Were back to the disturbing Avatar.

no but I think they'll make it possible to produce relatively cheap androids at scale given their reuse of motor types etc As for how usefull or autonomous they can be... I think that is a long shot and remains to be seen

I suppose there will be a thousand generations before we see the dancing version in a year or two.

All robots are cool these days but the only big issue, as seen here, is that they are just way to slow. I would like them to build a round a fast robot and then from there workout all the bugs it may have.

The robots are making awesome progess, and no, AI is not scary. It's going to be very helpful. In 1930, 600 man years of civil engineering went in the Empire State Building. In 1995, a single civil engineer could do the same work in 3 months using SPICE with better simulations of wind shear and ground tremors. In 1990, design software allowed the generation of 90% of an MRP system code base. The law of supply and demand will cause those items produced in abundance to drop in price and people will seek out those items and services to produce to make money doing something they enjoy. All those companies using AI are trying to build products and services that you, the consumer, would be willing to pay for to make your lives better.

Haven't seen any independent actions yet, all they showed is teleoperation. And really slow walking.
Quite far from Digit, but still gets more news coverage.
