Evaluating Energy Resources - Summary GCSE Physics

Показать описание
Energy resources used to generate electricity on Earth are:
Fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas)
Nuclear fuel
Bio-fuels
Wind
Hydroelectricity
Geothermal
Tidal
Wave

Renewable energy resources - resources that come back as quickly as we can use them.
Fossil fuels and Nuclear fuel are examples of non-renewable resources, they are finite and will run out at current rate of consumption.
We also use some of these energy resources for transport and heating.
Some resources are more reliable than others, in most countries we are currently unable to rely solely on any one renewable energy resource. For this reason we rely on an energy mix. Humanity will have to move to a low carbon energy mix to avoid permanent environmental damage to our planet.
