I was already loving the Alesis Nitro kit I got to say your videos continue to make me appreciate it even that much more! Thank you!

Yes! Thank you for this video! I set mine up with the snare as Tom 2 and made it the ride. That gives me 3 full cymbals plus the hi hat AND 4 toms PLUS the snare. It’s amazing. I’m going to start looking for snare pads on eBay for cheap. Get all of them with dual triggers. Increase your playing power!
Also that manual information with the kit settings is amazing. You’re a beast.

So glad I found your video that mentioned the 'missing manual'! As you say, the one supplied with the kit is less than basic and as a complete beginner, I really needed something more comprehensive, looks like you've come up trumps here, so thanks a million!

Dude, I love how you focus some of you're videos on this kit, because most beginners will watch these videos and they help a lot! I've been playing for a while but only on a acoustic kit, and you're videos are so helpful! So thank you!!!

Page 4 comment 16 of the manual explains how to do this. Just buy five stereo to mono 1/4 inch splitters, five 1/4 inch female barrels, and five cables. Now you have a 15 piece setup. On the controller just push the tom2 button followed by rim button to hear other channel sound. No need to cut wires. I also added double base pedals and 12 inch risers on each leg.

The in-the-box manual was extremely lacking Module instructions and tips. I am so grateful for your channel! P.S. Just got my Nitro Mesh kit for Christmas from my hubby. I haven't played a drum kit since High School age...in my upper 40's now :) It's been fun getting back in the saddle. I have much re-learning to do, but looking forward to it. This is a nice little kit for our home. Thanks again for taking the time to make these vids!

Sick!! Thank you very much :) Just got my kit a week ago and your videos have helped me get mine setup and sounding good... this new information is great news and i will be moving my snare to the same position as yours to get the ride on the rim over there and keep 3 toms.. so cool!

Awesome, thanks so much for bringing us the full manual, obviously the included manual was so uninformative I had no idea how to even create a custom set.

Great video and love the "lost" manual! I discovered this same thing myself and I purchased an additional dual zone pad and and larger dual zone cymbal to expand my kit. I ended up using the additional dual zone mesh pad as my Tom 2 and use the rim as a splash or ride for some custom kits. Another great thing about having dual zone inputs, is you can double up triggers using a splitter. I have yet to try this out, but I plan on making some DIY mesh pads (mostly for a larger snare) and might take advantage of this to increase the amount of single zone pads I can get out of this kit.

hope this is not a stupid question, but your toms are single zone therefore they have no rim sound listed on the module so if you use a splitter how can you set up the sound on the extra pad?

I've been looking at this kit as my first electronic kit and your videos are really helpful in making up my mind :)

Let me make sure I understand what you're saying. You can buy a dual zone pad, replace the alesis toms and have dual zone functionality, on all the toms? Or is there something you can do with the alesis pads to make the toms dual zone? As for splitting I can take the single TRS split it into mono and then add let's say, another single zone tom OR cymbal? Does this mean I can buy another cymbal and power the cymbal that way, instead of using the port of the module? So essentially the 3 TRS connectors for the toms can power 6 total pads? Thanks for any assistance

THANK YOU! This is literally the question I had that I wanted answering, and I emailed Alesis twice and haven't received a reply.

I was looking at this electric kit as a cheap songwriting tool, and wanted to use the dual zone triggers on the toms to have a regular tom sound as well as a tom rim sound. I also wanted to know if the cymbals could be upgraded to dual zone so that I could have the regular crash sound as well as the bell or choke, but can see a user below has already asked this.

Upgrading the snare to triple zone (regular snare sound, rim shot, cross stick) and the ride to triple zone (ride, bell, crash) would be amazing, but maybe this could be achieved through velocity switching on a dual zone trigger. I wouldn't use the internal sounds, as I would trigger drum samples in my DAW.
