Amen!! I struggled with dressing modest. I had to ask myself why. When the revelation came, I had to accept the truth. I dressed hot for attention. It hurt when I started dressing modest, my husband's eyes started to wander. I still struggle now but I keep reminding myself God is the one who created me. And I'm his masterpiece.

Amen, amen. Thank you so much for this Lana. It is so NOT about legalism, and ultimately, modestly will flow from a humble heart. Jesus said judge not according to the appearance but judge righteous judgement, and man looks on the outside while God looks on the heart. Your last point especially was appreciated: look beautiful, not hot, (God loves beauty!) with attention being drawn to a face that radiates Christ.

Also, modesty is something that flows from abiding in The Holy Spirit. 🕊️ Being modest in clothing should flow from being modest within. Being modest outside while being immodest in character beats the whole point. ‼️ Allow your modesty to come from within, not just dressing to appear modest but being modest from within which flows out to even your clothing ❤

When we were younger, my husband used to want me to dress “hot” so that he could show me off in front of his friends until I asked him, “You know how your friends are, how do you think that they’ll think of me when they see my dressed like this?” He said, “Nevermind, if you go around my friends, you have to look like you’re going to church.” I learned from Lana that I can look beautiful while dressing modestly, and it is important for a married woman to do so out of respect for her husband. Powerful topic, been researching past 2 days on this. I'm so sick of sexualized uncomfortable appearance for kids, women, even men. I got healed from the hot vanity attidude, 2 yrs saved! ☺️ I'm praying for a beautiful humble, gracious attitude for me & my daughter too. Who am I ? A daughter of the most high King so I'm going to dress accordingly. When people look at me I want them to see Jesus. I really appreciate the last section on ask while dressing and don't attract the wrong attention. This was a refresher and encourmanet as I redo my wardrobe that represents Christ's beauty, thank you!

One reason that I admire Lana is that she is a great role model for me, as a woman in my early 20s and wife. Her words are full of wisdom and she is a great example of a godly woman. I have felt the pressure at times to conform to the latest trends to look “hot” instead of realizing that God made me as I am for a purpose, and I don’t need to change my outward appearance. I also love Lana’s taste in fashion. She’s so gorgeous that she really could be a supermodel, but I admire that she dresses differently than how many women in the world dress.

Thank you for this, Lana. I'm Nigerian, and what you said about opening our chest is not really acceptable. Many worldly things have crept into the church, and over time, are being overlooked. One of the reasons is because pastors or spiritual leaders don't want people to be offended and then leave church.
I remember when I was growing up, a greater percentage of churches were so stern about dressing, and no one dared to challenge it.

I loved this conversation so much, God bless you Lana! I used to dress out of insecurity and wore super super long skirts, and wore exceedingly oversized that drowned me out because of shame of how I looked. Now the Lord has delivered me and I now see myself the way He sees me and love trying different styles, colours and still keep it modest and beautiful. It's definitely not about legalism at all!
