That clone did not get access to the GI bill. But seriously the scene with Kenobi looking at a clone of the 501st, who massacred the Jedi at the temple, and still giving him credits out of kindness, hit different

I think the clone shows how much Vader changed from Anakin, the 501st was his men, friends, even family Anakin would never let his veterans be reduced to homelessness. But Vader would.

Unfortunately child soldiers don’t get a retirement fund

"Help get a veteran a warm meal"

So I probably didnt get the quote right but you get the idea, its soo awful to see a solider who was born into his cause with no choice, discarded for the thing he had complete blind loyalty for. Once a proud man and powerful and now a beggar on the streets and a low life, this scene almost makes you feel the forgiveness obiwan has for the trooper in you, as eventhough he probably helped kill the jedi you still feel sympathy knowing that he probably didn't have a choice.

I've always wondered if those clone chips were still working. Part of me was hoping for the Clone to join Obi Wan, another part of me want to see his chip take over with Order 66 activated.

The whole scene really hit hard. I really want the clone veteran to get a better life by the end of the series. The clones gave the war their all.

“At the end of the war and with it, the republic, it was becoming apparent that the military was beginning to change and was actually filling most of its ranks with that of volunteer citizens. This was when the realization hit many of us, that the new empire had no new work cut out for us. So, stemming of my previous connections in the senate, I secured a decent pension fund for the officers in my battalion and I started a business, and If I see a clone out of work, I try to hire him on the spot, but I know there are countless clones out there who have no place or work anymore for them. We deserve better.” -CS/CT-8711-12 “Cheng”, former Captain and Scout of the 442nd Siege Battalion

I'd love to get a Star Wars movie about the transition of power from Clone Troopers to Stormtroopers. I feel it would bring the prequels and originals together and also get a look at society on planets like Coruscant after Order 66

"Well, I've known no other way. Gives us Clones a mixed feeling about the war. Many people wished it never happened. But without it, we Clones... wouldn't exist." - Captain Rex

I mean I've obviously got sad in a few parts when I first watched Clone Wars and Star Wars movies. But nothing have hit me harder than this.

Those babies in the tubes we saw in Bad Batch that were taken out and likely moved to another planet will likely be the last batch of Clones introduced into the Imperial military, strange that so many clones never even fought in the Clone Wars, by A New Hope that last batch of clones as well as some officers from the first few generations are likely all that remains of the Clones in the Imperial military, the destruction of both Death Stars and the Battle Of Jakku also likely took a huge toll on their numbers for what remained.

I think he is a deserter. He still has his coloured armour while the Imperial clones wear only white. Maybe his chip was defective so he didn't carry out the order and just fled during the chaos. Just a theory.

This is what Padme was trying to fix when she was on Alderran as an assassin was trying to kill her in Season 3 of the Clone Wars.

I figured members of 501st would still be serving as part of Vader’s Fist after the Clone Wars and during the empire. It really is sad seeing a member of a favored battalion casted out.

Regrettably, soldiers in real life can wind up lost and homeless.

I know this because i am a veteran. And for a while I was homeless. I am much better now.

Kudos to Kenobi for using art to reflect reality.

Your note about the wreckage of the war made me remember the quote “Oktaro was a battleground during the Clone Wars. Imperial history books say it was just a skirmish, but I grew up in the rubble, and believe me, it was more than a skirmish to us”

The sad truth is that the Clone Army were pawns to Darth Sidious rise, and they were meant to be sacrifice, used, and then discarded by him. They were a slave army who sole purpose was to fight in a war that was rigged from the start, and they were never going to be a part of the Galactic Empire in any way shape or form. Really if the clones were a bit more independent they would have realized that the Galactic Empire was going to replace them with the Stormtroopers, and maybe even stage a rebellion to at least die fighting as they breed to do.

I wonder what was Obi-wan seeing at that moment when he encoutnered the Clone trooper turned beggar. A dangerous man who may try to kill him if hw knows who he is? Or just a broken beggar who posed little to no threat to him after he has been used by a madman in his quest to obtain unlimited power?

I was actually pretty bummed to see that clone in such a sad state
