That space will make a GREAT office! Just a caveat: Have you ever slept in an overhead? My concern is for your safety. Maybe put your mattress up there and sleep up there a little while before you remove your bed altogether. That way you'll know how you feel about it, and how Bandit does with it. Too bad you don't have the original bunk ladder. I wish you the best working it out. Good health and happiness; hugs and kissies for Bandit!

So in theory a awesome idea!
But will you sleep up there actually work?
Move boxes to current bed and try it for awhile until you know that it is truly a great but functional idea!
👍👍💖

Gilda Radner. It actually hurts me that she died so young. So smart and vibrant. There was more to say, a lot more. 😭

The maintenance on an RV is one of the things that kept me in vans so long! LOL. That being said, after enough years the idea of standing up, being able to walk around, cook standing up, take a shower inside, etc does start to sound pretty appealing. At least with the vintage market these days the vehicle is usually holding value if not appreciating with certain projects. I like the fiberglass body on Freebird as well. I slept in the cabover bunk in Gina and Jeff's old Class C when I borrowed it last winter in Pahrump. I thought at first that it might be a hassle, but I found it to be quite comfortable and convenient.

I bought my "Honey" 2 years ago. She's a 1991 Toyota Motorhome and have been fixing her up, replacing parts as well as had a ton of fun exploring with her. I love vintage!

Oooh what a great idea to make the bedroom into an office with ever changing scenery out those lovely windows. From Badge, i have learned that the seams where walls meet floor & ceiling must be inspected, sealed& repaired. Carpet replaced by vinyl, windows resealed / replaced. You mention a/c, fridge, toilet, heater, water heater. I'd guess water pump & all plumbing plumbing checked too. Roof sealed, tires, suspension, brakes all need checking & since this is painted so nicely, you're off to a good start decor wise - even if you repaint, it will be easier now.

Beds take up a lot of room and you're doing exactly what I would have done, this will leave you a ton of living space. Blessings to you!

Hello Debra, make a plan of waking up top bunk, and also put a board up to let your body know your close to the edge.Falling out of bed is #1 on list of falls.Yes I know.Sleeping on a tall bed made for storage under in small room. I thought I was away from edge, for some reason I never do this but did that morning I stretched and flipped over .OFF I went..so put a foot board at stomach area room to get out on one end.yes I got hurt nose, foot, ribs and lung.4ft or so high.

I think I would leave the bed where it is and keep the storage where it's at now. It would be easier to lay down and do life in the case of a TBI episode.

You might try sleeping up in that bunk area first before you commit to it. Also, to get up in the bunk, consider getting a foldout utility/painting ladder with the big platform and wide steps. Those RV bunk ladders are not made for adults. Ask me how I know. That's alot of boxes up there to relocate. It's always something.
