I liked how the brother called their beloved dog "puppy" when the dog was 16 years old. Really cute. Often times the person in distress isn't very kind because they are in so much pain they take their anger out on anyone and it's the person that is closest to them who loves them the most. I don't think they mean it, but it comes out that way. Very loving reading from Matt. I may have a tattoo of the BESTEST COMPANION OF MY LIFE I LOST IN 2021. An adopted dog that loved me and knew me better than I knew myself. He loved me the day I brought him home. He comforted me when I broke down in tears over the predicament my divorce left me in which was devastation. So, I understand, calling a 16 year old dog a "puppy, " really sweet. Plus, I had a family member who was quite mean to a caretaker who was also a family member. The ailing member had to have diapers changed frequently and had a horrific bedsore develop at the crease of his bottom which touched the toilet seat during his stay at the hospital/extended care facility. The caretaker at his home nursed the sore back to health after months and months of home care. He was so grouchy, but he was not feeling well and she was tired of his grouchiness and in turn became grouchy as well. It's human nature. So, I think we understand. Healthcare workers need to learn more compassion and stay above the pettiness and not become grouchy. If the healthcare employees can't do this for long or short term, they are in the wrong field of work.
