Seit 2005 arbeiten die Monophonics an der Verfeinerung ihres psychedelischen Soul. Die Kalifornier gehen dabei undogmatisch zu Werke, begeben sie sich doch neben dem Northern Soul auch in Gefilde, die Genre-Puristen eher die Nase rümpfen lassen.

Kelly Finnigan, now that's ONE '80s baby that grew up with soul FO' DAMN SURE 🎤🎶😁👍!!! Son of late, great session keyboardist Mike Finnigan (Jimi Hendrix, Crosby/Stills/Nash, Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, Michael McDonald, Tracy Chapman, etc...), homeboy's pretty much music "royalty" these days. Can't believe he was born and raised right in my own backyard of all places (Los Angeles, CA)! Had I known sooner, would've had his music firmly planted in my collection of 2, 000+ CDs already. Oh well, better late than never as I'm starting to say more and more these days...
