Lehtonen forced to leave after collision with Iginla

Dallas Stars Goalie Kari Lehtonen lay on the ice for some time after Colorado Avalanche forward Jarome Iginla backed into him.

this is stupid, a new rule should be as long as the goalie is injured by the player that runs into him, that player should also be suspend for as long as the goalie takes to heal

I think in this case Iginla is more at fault in this. I see a few people arguing that Lehtonen came up, and to an extend he did - but he never left the crease. Therefore, as they state in the video, Iginla should know where he is, and he never put significant effort into slowing down.

To be fair, Lehtonen did move up further out the crease when iginla was in front of the net

That was a dive. Iginla barely touched him and didn't even land on him.

It doesn't matter if it was intentional, it resulted in an injury he should have at least gotten a double minor if not more. If it was Eakin on Lundqvist it would have been another suspension.
