EPC light can be caused by many things. It can be a cam position sensor going out. Throttle sensor faulty. Brake light switch sensor faulty. In my case, the car ran fine, EPC light came on because the brake light switch sensor broke. Replace it. A month later it came on again. This time it was because both brake light bulbs had blown.

Thanks to share this information, I had this same issue today. Driving like Grandpa! I'm not under warranty. Mine is VW Polo, it started to shake when I pushed the throttle.

I have the light on in my t-roc atm. Had it diagnosed with a breakdown company; one of the dpf channels is almost totally blocked. Have to take it to the dealer tomorrow

Got this on my 09 vw Jetta Wolfsburg. It’s a 2.0tsi changed the throttle body and it still comes on and have to turn the car off for limp mode to turn off I think the pedal sensor has something to do with the EPC light bc when I turn off the Jetta and push the pedal down and back off it starts running normal again seconds later

Mine does the same. I have taken it to the dealer and they say they can't get it to repeat that warning. It still does it

Any reason why it took 3 days to figure out that the car needed an update?

2015 Passat 119K miles. Never a problem til it hit 96K miles. Since then had to add a quart of oil between oil changes, til it hit 104K, now have to add oil every month!! Dealership says no leaks & nothing wrong!

Lately, it's been acting as if it was losing power while driving and seeming to almost shut off while stopped. EPC just popped on 🤨

Replaced the alternator at about 105K. Have replaced the battery 4 times and now smelling something that smells like looking forward to having a car note again but i think it's time

All of my Jettas and Golfs have had a air intake leak. Most of them before I hit the 50k mark lol but I love them anyway. 5cyl engines (no turbo) have given me less issues (and they are much cheaper in parts) so there's that.

I have the same issue with my 2019 jetta .. took it to the dealership.. jan 2022 a whopping 1900.. said that ran a diagnostic and replaced a j1087 sensor and bracket to the rear bumper.. reset codes and here I am two months later same issues .. I have extended warranty and factory warranty and they told me it wouldn’t do any good to use.. I feel like I’ve been ripped off.. I am taking it back and will refuse to pay again!

Yesterday the EPC light came on intermittently with my 2019 Gold Sportwagen 1.8 no messages in the car status screen. I'll be contacting my shop about it. $$

By chance did your car make a loud fan noise when driving in between 2 and 3000 rpm. I have a 2017 jetta that has an EPC light on and I turned it off and on and the car won't accelerate past 2-3000 rpm without making a loud fan noise so is it stuck in lymph mode?

Thats why im grateful I didn’t get rid of my old mk6 jetta. Never had any throttle issues until 110k miles. Replaced throttle body and has never failed again

This just happen to my 2018 vw Passat the EPC and the check engine light but the EPC light goes of leaving the check engine light and it drive ok for a min until the EPC come back on ? So am wondering if it’s the same thing too.
