Not quite - the authors do not understand the digital architecture of the modern markets (ATS - you may know Dark Pool terms), intra bank payments (net, net), or the lack of accountability in security lending. We dont have price discovery in modern markets - its not much of an industry secret, there is too much bottled up (dark banking, or w/e the kids want to call it). Also many small funds are strawmen - crypto is largely how they fed to stay in a failing trade. This was never met for retail this is how large algo funds/market makers went to war. Retail (pfof) is how the certain players gained more volume (incremental) used to hft algo driven block trade: retail is cannon fodder. But no one wants actual price discovery - they want manipulation of price in order to align to a strategic or tactical goal.

Repeating that short sellers are skilled at interpreting news 10 time is not informative at all and doesn't bust any market myth about short selling. It might be useful for your trading strategies, but it doesn't address shorting ETF, DOJ investigating manipulative short selling, it address nothing
