I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!

These are the 20 Best Movies on Netflix right now, and even though you've likely seen most of them, I promise you forgot how good these movies are. Unlike usual, I spend a little more time on each movie this week. Since you've likely seen many of them I hope the added information in this episode of Flick Connection gets you eager to revisit some of these great movies.

Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.

Thanks for watching!

Darren, as a 53-yr-old busy waitress & grandmother, I want you to know that I am so thankful for your movie suggestions. On occasion, I have made the mistake of watching a random movie on Netflix or Amazon... Without guidance, and am often left disappointed. However, NEVER have I had regrets after watching one of your recommendations... THANK YOU for your research & posts!!!

Thanks for calling out Chef! Very rewatchable and warm. While there are lots of funny moments, I never thought of it as a comedy.

Can't believe how many of these classic movies I've slept on and still consider myself a film buff. I liked this format a lot and now have some work to do.

Robert Shaw's scene where he gives the Indianapolis speech, is one of the best "monologues" I have ever seen. There is a very interesting behind the scene story, regarding Spielberg and Shaw, that shows how good of an actor he was.

My wife and I just saw Chef last week and when it was done we said, "how have we not watched this before?" It was fantastic! I really liked Favreau and Leguizamo in this movie.

Best movie reviews ever. - and I remember S&E. We don’t have exactly the same taste in movies, but your reviews have gotten me to try new films.
Thanks.

I've probably watched Jaws 100 times over the years and it NEVER gets old. The scene where Quint gets eaten by the shark is just brutal to watch. I was 5 when it came out and when it did folks were scared to DEATH to go into the ocean....heck even in lakes and ponds too LOL it had that profound of an effect on everyone's psyche. Quite an accomplishment for a movie to do that for years after

I'm so happy Desperado is available now! I want to show it to my daughter. Movers stole my DVD out of the case (and my Canadian import Pulp Fiction with deleted scenes). This happened more than 10 years ago and still I mourn.

I wish they would do a sequel to The Professional; with Natalie Portman, now all grown up, as the assassin.

Loved this format! I have been a subscriber for several years, I am elated that JAWS is your number 1 pick! I was 6 when I saw it in the theater. A couple of years ago it was in a theater here during the summer, and I was finally able to show my children how incredibly scary this was on the big screen. My son said “ My childhood is complete “. Then left for boot camp a couple of weeks later. Thanks again for a great list!

Another great recommendations list, Darren and I enjoyed your extra observations in each film. The ones that stand out for me, include:
Training Day 💥 Desperado 💥 Once upon a Time in America 💥 Leon The Professional 💥 Bade Runner: The Final Cut💥 Team America (wickedly hilarious) 💥 There Will Be Blood 💥 and Apocalypse Now Redux 💥
Excellent work. Catch you on your next presentation and take care 🌟🌟🌟

Couple of things I have to say:

I watched What's Eating Gilbert Grape when I was a kid and it DEPRESSED the hell out of me and I vowed to never watch it again.

Leon the Professional has the best character development I've ever seen in a movie. I felt DEEPLY for Leon and Portman.

Wow! Glad to see Rush on your list. I’m a big f1 racing fan but found my friends who weren’t fans enjoyed the film too.
