Update from the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab

IIHS Digital Outreach Coordinator, Jacob Neff, discuses with Virginia Tech's Mark Begonia the relationship between IIHS and the Helmet Lab.

The bicycle helmet ratings program at Virginia Tech, based on research performed in collaboration with IIHS, ranks helmets on their performance in impact tests. Since Virginia Tech started rating bike helmets, half of them now receive 4- and 5-star ratings.

Wow… couldn’t be timed better. I just recently purchased Thousand Heritage 2.0 and the rating is terrible based on the testing done by Virginia Tech Lab. May have to return it back
