We have a #plastic #pollution crisis. The days of plastic #water #bottles are numbered—and not just because we're all getting so sick of seeing them. Plastic bottles are bad for the environment, and they're also really expensive to produce and transport across long distances.

Every year, the equivalent of 19 billion plastic water bottles are sold in the United States alone. That's enough to circle the Earth more than twice!

And that's just water bottles. The number of other types of plastic containers and packaging is staggering: 20 billion disposable razors are thrown away every year; 500 billion individual-sized food containers; 50 million #straws per day; make up sponges... and the list goes on.

Hi, love your videos and mission. There are a few issues with the following sentence: "Metal is a natural temperature conductor, so if it takes on something cold, it will keep it cold, and if it's contents are hot, they will stay hot.". Materials conduct heat, not temperature. But more importantly, a heat conductor does exactly the opposite of your claim. It allows for the heat to move, so the temperature will balance out more quickly, than in an insulating bottle or container. An insulating bottle has a double wall, with air or vacuum in between the metal walls, that's how it can insulate.
With kind regards from a chemist.

I drink filtered water. Bottled water for me is a rare commodity for when I need to get water when I'm out of the house and failed to plan ahead. Unfortunately, refillable water bottles are not much help if I failed to plan ahead. If refillable water bottles became cheaper and/or more convenient than filtered water, I would consider the switch.
