This is a great pilot episode, since it manages to introduce each character and their personality traits and define the core storylines and themes for all seasons to come.

One thing I love about Desperate Housewives, and which this introductory scene absolutely set the tone for, is how it uses creative ways of setting a scene, in this case the different foods which, even on their own, say so much about each housewife.

My favourite character is Bree van de Kamp. I like Susanne, Gabby and Lynette too but Bree just appeals to me more. I don't know why. Maybe because she's the perfect housewife? She's really committed with her daily chores and doesn't seem bored with it. She's the kind of mother or aunt that everybody wish they had. She's also funny and it's very easy to like her.
