Got quoted $1800 to replace the whole AC compressor, bought this instead. I attempted to remove the old sensor myself but it had been in place for so long and the plastic was so brittle that it fell apart and I lacked the tools to get it out. Took it to a local mechanic and he had to scrape it out with a dremel and some picks, $60 and he had it done in an hour. Definitely worth a try before you blow your cash on a whole new unit.
