I really like this kid.  Mix and Aron, our two Scandanavian imports, have really impressed me with their technical skills and their great attitudes.  I hope they both have break out performances in Brazil.

I have so much respect for Johannsson. He doesn't celebrate after scoring a tremendous winning goal. A class player that respects his opponent. I'm glad he's a part of the MNT.

I like how Johannsson doesn't over celebrate knowing that was his first US goal. He is aware of the situation. He knows he just crushed Panamas dreams, but he to do what he had to do.

I'm not saying his age is the reason he won't be taken, I'm saying that there are others who are currently in front of him on the depth chart who will not be overtaken by the time the WC comes around. He has shown ability, but he hasn't shown anything that makes him an immediate starter, which is why he needs more time and games to show what he can do. Like I keep saying, the next World Cup is his time to shine. Also, Neymar is on a whole different level in terms of skill, so you can't compare.

All the respect in the world to Panama for making this a good game and for becoming a much stronger team within CONCACAF. Notice how their players like Jaime Penedo and Gabriel Torres are going to other leagues and hopefully they'll continue to improve.

You're right. And people forget that Jozy was extremely young and he was the starter for us in 2010. He was what, 20? 19? Johannsson brings talent that almost no American exhibits and that's something that we definitely need. His first touch, smart decisions, dribbling and shooting accuracy warrant him a spot above: Wondolowski, Gomez, Boyd, and any striker you can think of not named EJ or Jozy. And EJ makes mistakes too, he's smarter to use in small bursts as what he brings is lethal too

Poor Jaime Penedo. As a Galaxy fan it hurts to not see him carry his team to the World Cup. As an Mexican-American fan, I am glad they got that W regardless of what it did to their rivals, it's a bittersweet victory and what a way to show it. That's respect and no better way to do it than an epic 2 goal scores at the end to show Mexico how it's done. As a thank you, can we have Cancun? :D

Reminds me of when US did the same to Costa Rica and tied them in the last second to make Honduras qualify and send them to lose against eventual 4th place winners, Uruguay. The beauty of football and US Soccer.
