The EU Has APPROVED the Microsoft Activision Deal

Today the Microsoft Activision deal was approved in the EU with some cloud gaming concessions that Xbox is completely okay with. This huge Xbox news today will leave us looking toward the CMA appeal and the FTC case that's pending. The EU Activision Blizzzard deal analysis also expressed cloud gaming concerns that were addresed by the company. The Microsoft Activision deal update is good news for Xbox fans everywhere as they'll likely be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon. Now that the Xbox Activision deal approved by the EU we will need to wait to see a Microsoft Activision deal update from the CMA and FTC.

I hope the deal does go through, not because of “console wars” but because I’d love to have ABK games on gamepass, it’ll save everyone that uses the service a lot of money, especially considering a lot of people in the world atm are struggling financially, people don’t have £70, $70 or €70 to spend on games, it’s either they buy a game or put food on their table and pay their bills, with ABK games on gamepass people don’t have to choose, that’s why I’m personally hoping this deal goes through.

Now now, this is getting really interesting. Despite the FTC suing Microsoft to dissuade the EU from approving it, it still happened. Well, now it's gonna be an interesting fight that will see Microsoft has an absolute winner and we with them.

Like I said, the deal is approved the CMA was political theater. Expect a expedited appeal and approval after the FTC also approves with concessions.

The CMA seems to be doubling down on its decision, what with stopping MS & ABK from buying stakes in each other without permission from them. I’m beginning to think MS will have to find a workaround for the UK while the rest of the world signs off on it. Bloody typical, CMA ruining it for UK gamers while everyone else gets great access.

The strongly feel that the CMA chose to block the deal, not because of Cloud gaming as they say… But rather just to protect their PlayStation.

It was a weak argument to block the deal by the CMA, but you know it’s their purgative. It will be interesting if the deal passes everywhere except for the CMA. So we will see how this goes.
