Controller Wheel for the Osmo Pocket is Available

DJI made the OSMO Pocket available on December 15th, however at the time of the release, none of the accessories were available. Many websites offered pre-order options.

I was fortunate for my Osmo Pocket to arrive on the release date. Below is a first impressions review after using the Pocket for a few days. In the first few days of owning the Pocket, I was extremely impressed with the gimbaled camera, even though it lacked a lot of the features I am accustomed to. Before you criticize the Osmo Pocket, you have to remember that the name "pocket" says a lot about the device.

Nice add on, for me a little kind of joystick would be better, then you could even go diagonal

I like the osmo pocket that scroll is nice but I also think if it were a joystick it would’ve been way more convenient!

Have you tried a DJI drone remote with cell phone to control gimbal and zoom

But the controler could not combine the movement between up to right or down to left continously, but it must stop first and then swith the movement

I sure will buy it as it is part of the accessory kit that comes with the wireless adaptor. Need to have that, also.
My plan is to use the Osmo Pocket as an invisible camera man out of the box by doing active tracking when riding my dual sport bike on river crossings. Hope that works. (the active track, not the river crossing. That of cours as well) Could you make a video about active track? Maybe use a bicycle for it?
The kit is not yet available here in Germany.

Recently got the osmo pocket but feel it should come with a little joystick to control gimbal easily

PGYTECH makes a gimbal guard that would allow you to carry it in your pocket with the wheel on. I'm going to try that setup. Thanks for the review.

... Why wouldn't the camera operator simply pan or tilt or Pan+Tilt by hand?
... Wouldn't the Gimble make it a nice smooth movement?

Great quick review. From your footage looks like you may want to change the shutter speed using ND filters for more natural looking blur or was the fast shutter speed intentional?

It is not for full work the standart is absolute best her you can work with the zoom . Use the the zoom with the wheel is too compleecate

ALERT! Nobody tells you that the ZOOM function is inaccessible, there is no longer access to it. A serious mistake from the manufacturer.

The fact that you cant even use the Gopro Holder and the wheel at the same time is really dumb... however you can if you turn the gopro mount upside down, then you can mount your osmo with the wheel on.

I like the extra buttons.. but the "wheel" is useless... you can use the screen to tilt and just manually pan... the fact that you cant diagonally pan and tilt together makes it useless. gives a box look when transitioning.
