Marc Spector is a former United States Marine and mercenary with dissociative identity disorder. During his childhood, Spector's brother Randall drowned in a cave while they were playing, starting a strenuous and spiteful relationship with his mother, who frequently abused him. To find comfort within himself, Spector's psyche formed an alter known as Steven Grant, who had no memory of Spector's trauma. While he was on a mission in Egypt, Spector was shot by his partner Raul Bushman, but he was saved by Khonshu, who transformed him into his Avatar and the vigilante Moon Knight. Soon after, he fell in love with and married Layla El-Faouly. Following his mother's death, the Grant alter resurfaced and relocated to London to become a museum worker, with Spector occasionally taking over the body to operate as Moon Knight.

Grant found himself in the middle of a conspiracy where a cult led by Arthur Harrow intended to release Ammit, so he teamed up with his wife and Spector to stop him. Whenever Grant summoned his suit, he took the form of Mr. Knight. During their search for Ammit's tomb, Grant had complications with Spector, with the latter wanting to disappear after they defeated Harrow. Arriving at the tomb, Spector was shot and killed by Harrow before being transported to the Duat. As Grant discovered Spector's traumatic past, he fell into the Duat, resulting in Spector being able to pass on to the Field of Reeds. Spector was able to rescue Grant by sharing his balanced heart with him, and returned to life through the Gates of Osiris. Reuniting with Khonshu, Moon Knight and Mr. Knight, along with El-Faouly and help from their mysterious third alter, managed to defeat Harrow and prevent Ammit from enacting her judgment worldwide. In exchange for defeating Ammit, Spector and Grant were freed from Khonshu's servitude. However, their third alter, Jake Lockley, began fronting and continued to serve Khonshu as his Avatar, executing both Harrow and Ammit.

Moon Knight is a character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, the character first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975).[1]

The son of a rabbi, Marc Spector served as a Force Recon Marine and briefly as a CIA operative before becoming a mercenary alongside his friend Jean-Paul "Frenchie" DuChamp. During a job in Sudan, Spector is appalled when ruthless fellow mercenary Raoul Bushman attacks and kills archeologist Dr. Alraune in front of the man's daughter and colleague, Marlene Alraune. After fighting Bushman and being left for dead, a mortally wounded Spector reaches Alraune's recently unearthed tomb and is placed before a statue of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Spector dies, then suddenly revives, fully healed. He claims Khonshu wants him to be the "moon's knight", the left "Fist of Khonshu", redeeming his life of violence by now protecting and avenging the innocent. While early stories imply Spector is merely insane, it is later revealed Khonshu is real, one of several entities from the Othervoid (a dimension outside normal time and space) once worshipped by ancient Earth people. On his return to the United States, Spector invests his mercenary profits into becoming the crimefighter "Moon Knight", aided by Frenchie and Marlene Alraune, who becomes his lover and eventually the mother of his daughter. Along with his costumed alter ego, he primarily uses three other identities to gain information from different social circles: billionaire businessman Steven Grant, taxicab driver Jake Lockley, and suited detective and police consultant Mr. Knight.

It is later revealed Moon Knight has dissociative identity disorder, and that the alter egos known as Grant and Lockley originally manifested during his childhood. Other subsequent alter egos who do not assume the Moon Knight identity have emerged at other points during his adulthood, including a werewolf-fighting astronaut; impersonators of Khonshu, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Captain America, Iron Man, and Echo; and a red-haired little girl known as the Inner Child It is debated in different stories whether Spector has genuine DID due to childhood trauma or if his similar symptoms are the result of brain damage caused by his psychic connection to Khonshu, a connection compelling his personality to shift between the four major aspects of the moon god's multi-faceted nature.

Easily I think one of my favorite costumes marvel has ever put out for live action

The Egyptian motifs were a stroke of genius. The almost mummified look is so sick

The show costume is honestly one of the best in marvel. The suit version was so good too

His costume was without a doubt the best superhero costume ever. The look, the way it adapts the comic design, the references to Egypt, the iconic emblems, it's like he's a higher level mummy with all the individual wrappings 😮 insane work! So beautiful 😍

I’m gonna be honest, I absolutely adore how little action there was in Moon Knight. I loved the dramatic interactions between Khonshu, Marc and Steven. Yeah, it’s Marvel so action is what they have to do to keep engagement, but the down to earth moments are what made the show damn near perfect to me.

I'm now an old man, but I was a moon Knight fan with the comic debut in the mid 1970s. I thought back then that with careful storytelling the character could be as important as Spiderman.

Moon Knight made me love this character when I had previously only seen him in an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man. It also made me respect Oscar Isaac as an actor because of his flawless acting ability to swap between two different characters without having the personalities or accents affect each other.

Aside from Spawn, i think MoonKnight has the coolest looking suit in comics

My FAVORITE mcu Disney plus show. The acting carried it so much. Oscar was PHENOMENAL playing Steven and Marc. The seamless switch in episode 4 made my jaw drop. Even May and Ethan did great with their characters too. Sure the story was a little fast paced but that’s only because they were given a 6 episode limit. Really hope season 2 comes out next year ❤

I know the hardcore Moon Knight fans don’t particularly like this adaptation of the character, but you have to admit, that suit is Badasss

ngl the "swat team armor" would've looked much better with the proper stiling. I still love the final suit tho
