Common Ground kicks off in cinematic style with ‘The Inconsistency Principle’. Things then move to the dance floor with recent favourites ‘My Own Hymn’ and ‘Northern Soul’, debuted by Above & Beyond at their sold out ABGT250 festival. OceanLab siren Justine Suissa shines on the groove heavy ‘Naked’, while A&B mainstay Zoë Johnston lends her voice to the sun-soaked ‘Sahara Love’. ‘Happiness Amplified’ features a rapturous refrain delivered by the unmistakable voice of Richard Bedford, before a change in gear for the progressive ‘Is It Love? (1001)’. The slow burning ‘Cold Feat’ is another poignant moment from Justine Suissa, with Marty Longstaff tackling the uncertainties of life in ‘Tightrope’. ‘Alright Now’s' message of perseverance in the toughest of times dove tails with ‘Bittersweet & Blues’ reflections on absence and abandonment. Stripping things back to the band’s acoustic core, the stunning ‘Always’ is an optimistic Zoë Johnston-led ballad. The title track, ‘Common Ground,’ premiered at Ultra Miami 2017, is a final, thought provoking instrumental bookend to the journey.

The release of Common Ground coincides with a tour of the same name - Above & Beyond’s most ambitious global tour to date. North American shows presented by T-Mobile are on sale now, with further worldwide dates to follow.

As an avid listener and a fan of A&B since 2000, I would rather say, they have always been the ones to be bold in what they do. They formed Anjunabeats in a room, more like a kickstarter project, released their very first album from their own fund Tri-State in 2006, and have done superb over the years building an Anjuna empire from scratch. Yes, they have grown with their music, with time and with people’s/fans emotions. That is why, they can be even more courageous to make an “acoustic” tour, with a sold out event in Hollywood Bowl. If people still say, that what they do is not “trance” music, then you are missing the bigger picture. They are always, musicians first, and DJs second. That resonates in everything they create, be it a cheesy lyrics like Naked, or bold ones like On A Good Day, they try to say all that is hidden and latent... that’s why they are world’s biggest dance act ever. Not for only “trance” music, but for what they create to reach your soul. You may like it or hate it, but we in true Anjuna Family would always love them ☺️❤️
