Ranging in size from minutely detailed, small-scale works to large, sculptural installations, the sixth installment of NMWA’s "Women to Watch" exhibition series explores artists’ ability to transform paper into a surprising array of shapes and structures. The exhibition series is presented every two to three years and is a dynamic collaboration between the museum and participating outreach committees. The 22 committees participating in this exhibition worked with curators in their respective regions to create shortlists of artists working with paper. From this list, NMWA curators selected the artists whose work is on view in "Women to Watch 2020—Paper Routes". In this video, introduced by NMWA director Susan Fisher Sterling, co-curators Ginny Treanor and Orin Zahra offer a tour of the exhibition.

I really love this paper exhibit! I have never seen such variety from so many women from around the world. The metaphors made possible with the paper medium seems endless. So fascinating!
