Waking up at 5am on a Saturday, all the kids programs haven't started yet and this was the only thing on. Those were the golden days!

I remember watching this every Saturday morning when I was a kid

I lived for Rage. That anthem will die with me. It was our only portal to new music. "Going to bed after this song"... two hours later I'm still up lol. Awesome days.

I remember seeing Guns n Roses 'Sweet Child O Mine' one morning when I was about 10 or 11, and Slash's solo making me decide to be a guitarist. 35 years later and I've been a F/T professional guitarist for 30 years, and still love it. Thank you Rage and GnR!

That intro was such a mainstay throughout the early mid 1980's?! Who would've thought that Countdown was the prequel to it?! It was so ahead of its time, a mind trip brain rush. Starting at like 2 or 3am in mourning on a weekend heist of music overload was almost unheard of at the time but this was when ABC were trendsetters and even rule breakers of the standard TV status quo back then. The music may of died in the 21st century but atleast the RAGE introduction showed/now reminded us why we loved music all those 37 years ago
