Pokemon Sacred Gold Hardcore Nuzlocke - GEN 2 ONLY - DEATHLESS (No items, No overleveling)

How I beat Pokémon Sacred Gold with only Gen 2 Pokémon using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules DEATHLESS.

Nuzlocke Rules:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first Pokémon on each route
3. Nickname all Pokémon

Hardcore Rules:
4. No items in battle (held items ok)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Hardcore+ Rules:
7. No stat-boosting moves
8. No weather moves and abilities

cool video! Gen 2 was and still is my favorite gen of all time. I've been doing personal nuzlocke challenges with monotype teams. To date, Grass and Bug are the hardest because of how much they struggle against Falkner.

Unfortunately Gliscor, yanmega, and mismagisus, porygon z, mamoswine and electivier are not gen 2 pokemon their pre evolutions are. So I wouldn't say that this is gen 2 only.

Nice work! I'm actually going through this game right now using only Gen 4 Pokemon(also includes Pokemon that evolve into Gen 4 Pokemon, but not evolutions of Gen 4 Pokemon if they belong to other Gens). So far I've made it to Pryce with 13 deaths(so yeah, clearly need to step up my game compared to you).

I'm curious - do you think the Gen 2 only rule made this run easier rather than more difficult? Felt like you got a lot of super good encounters and wondering how much of that was just the editing (not showing the weaker encounters) or if it was a significant help in dodging some weaker encounters from the other gens. Don't mean this as a criticism at all - it was an awesome run either way!
