Don't get it, this type of game you can find to dozens already in the app stores. Especially this overworld design and troop movement I've seen multiple times on adds already.
Why make a simple copy of that and not a turn based AoE like the DS/3DS games?

A classic AoE game would work well in mobile/touch, but it feels risky for big publishers to try something new. That's why they always choose to copy some other popular games.

Edit: An example was Apex Legends, with a great port with almost no changes from the main version and even a team deathmatch game mode on release. But it got shut down by EA in May 2023, probably because of low mtx sales.
