Can we all take a moment and remember why Challenger exploded? An engineer said the seal couldn't operate at the current temperature, and some bean counter eager for a launch said "Go". A minute later, "boom". These things are unbelievably complex, and can tolerate very little in the way of failures. Let's be thankful that the powers-that-be seem to be insisting on extra safety and proper testing, even at the expense of time.

In 1965 at the age of 18 I started work at Collins Radio. In 1966 and 67 I was working in the Apollo section on the equipment for the LEM. The news of the three astronauts dying in that fire was devastating. All the work we did was signed off with our clock numbers with date and time and there was a ton of inspections all along the way for everything being built. It was super exciting when they finally landed on the moon, took those steps and planted our flag and to see the Lunar Excursion Module in action.

I am absolutely not a fan of Elon Musk and definitely don’t understand why some idolize him. Not at all a fan of privatization either.

As a Canadian, I am extremely excited to see Canada’s first astronaut to land on the moon!
I remember as a kid watching Apollo 11, and my mom yelling at me to go outside and play instead of watching it. She shut the TV off, and took off the knob so I couldn’t turn it on.
I did, and went over to my friend’s house to watch it!

When I was a child a game show my grandmother watched was giving children contestants tickets to the first passenger flight to the moon. They could still be alive. Wonder if any of them kept their tickets.

It's not surprising that SpaceX is lagging behind their promises. I am sad there are delays, I can't wait for more space exploration. However, I am glad that SAFETY is not being compromised in order to get there.
