This ambitious Tri-State project would merge the major ports of the Netherlands with the North Rhine-Westphalia and the Flanders region of Belgium, including cities like Amsterdam, Brussels, and Cologne. Instead of competing against each other, the cities in this region would become part of an international network, competing in the international market as one unit. Each city would become more like a district in a giant metropolis.

Compared to other European regions, we can see that this region around The Netherlands makes the most sense for such a project as it is far more densely populated than other regions. Although this project is still an idea, I would really like to hear your opinion on this.

My opinion is you mentioning Cologne without mentioning its capital Duesseldorf, the capital of Northrhein-Westfalia, which has about 800 years of disputes with Cologne. So, you’re not going to unite those anytime soon. You must be from Cologne!
