Heres a bright idea. Put a wiper on some of those panels. Its buy 1 get 1! If we can make a controller vibrate, let's give the things an ability to fold at an upward angle. Then all that dust could possibly be shook off.

If you want to go big on the brush or windshield wiper idea, develope a "service mouse" that can do cleaning and minor repairs. Put one or two of these on each future flight.

When you said “ice” I immediately remembered how one reason earth has water is cause of meteors with water

Chill bro, this isn't a true crime story.

All you need is a soft vibrating brush to be installed on a moving arm with a compressor on it to blast the dust away, now this is a million dollar idea. NASA please 🙏 send me the check.

Yeah I heard about this.. I do not know why they do not hinge there cells so they can stand up and give a shake to knock off the dust then come back and lock into place.. But that is why I am not an engineer..

Well this proved mars used to be an ancient planet

Rovers always have their solar panels covered with dust after a storm. Why can't we just blow it away? A compressor can compress some air from the thin Martian atmosphere and then use the compressed air to blow the dust away. Another simpler way is using rotor blades as a fan: The Ingenuity drone proved that atmosphere on Mars is enough to make blades work.
