Well said! I love GTRs and Corvettes for how impressive their performance is for the price. Ive never been a big mustang or ford fan but I have to admit im impressed by the 2013 GT500. C7 Corvette better be amazing, im hoping!

@Seventh7Art The Spe1000 is also using a fully built shortblock and aftermarket turbos like the other kits but the 570. The LPE ZR1 is still on the stock LONGBLOCK, supercharger, exhaust manifolds and cat-back. With a cam and longtubes, it would probably run a 9.60. The SPE1000 is also 60K and it is not documented either way if that is installed or not. This is no where near half that in modifications.

Congratulations to the guys at Lingenfelter for this pass.

@perro030894 "vortec" engines used since around 2000, the 5.3, 6.0, 4.8, might have been labled vortec but are in the same family of engines as all LSs. the last engines actually recognized as "vortecs" were the 350s and 305s of the 90s

very smooth and non-abusive pass. lol great launch (didnt come out upsetting the chassis, letting it use its energy to move forward, and not "pushing something that can pull itself" great running car. props to the driver and the builder. especially, if the suspension was "stock-ish"

Good luck Switzer, you'll need it!

Read Marcs post about that. This ZR1 is on stock block and over 100 less horsepower at the wheels. Also there is no reason that this car couldn't go faster the way it is right now.

@Seventh7Art The ZR1 is running these times with 739 rwhp and stock roots supercharger which is the most inefficient power adder. With turbos, it would be in the 8s. The GTR will not see 8s anytime soon unless it goes in a diet. The C6 ZO6 has been in the 8s since 2007. One did it on the bone stock shortblock on 93 octane and meth. Plenty C5ZO6s have been in the 8s years before.

@Seventh7Art That makes sense because a mustang dyno will always show lower numbers than a dynojet. There are many ZO6s running 9s with less than 800 rwhp, but they weigh a heck of a lot less. The difference is they are on 93 octane. Plenty are well over 1, 000 rwhp.

Check out the fuel it was tuned on. You will never beat cubes for power especially on 93 octane.

Just like Ken Lingenfelter said at the 09'SEMA show that the ZR1 is a 9sec car, but with all stock internals the clutch was the only thing keeping it from the 9's.

@Marc99GT but the zr1 wasnt stock when it whent around the ring it had to be gutted the only thing left was the dash on race spec tires.

@AutoFanBoy I will say this the GTR has one up on the ZR1 because of the Turbo, the Turbo you can spool and spool no matter what. When you get up to 700+ hp every HP does make a difference. Now don't get me wrong I appreciate and respect the GTR it a a force to be reckoned with. There is a video on M5Board where there is a highly moded GT2 vs a Highly Moded GTR I think that the GT2 won. I my self am not a fan of Porsche but I do appreciate what the GTR has done and is capable of.

@Marc99GT the most expensive package costs 60k and it produces over 1000 whp, reliably.

@Marc99GT True point Marc. .18 of a second is nothing to brag about at all. In my opinion if it's any less than a half second or whatever, there's nothing to brag about because that .18 could dwindle down to being driver error, missing a shift, being in too low a gear when in a bend, or whatever. If it was say half a second or more, I'd be surprised.

@Marc99GT The GTR was introduced two years ago, unlike the C6 ! The GTR will be in the 8s with full interior, sooner than you think.

@Marc99GT The SPE900 GTR was on STOCK block and still run 9.8 with only 760 whp.

If anyone wants an idea of how hard the acceleration at launch is, just look at how much the front of the car tips upwards.

The last time I checked, the GTR SR850 ran 9.89. The 9.62 was a GTR SPE1000 with a built engine on C16. I have most of the specs in front of me on the car. It took 866 whp & 849 wtq to do it. The ZR1 running 9s here is on a bone stock longblock with 739 rwhp and most inefficient modified roots type blower. Also with a speed manual and not a semi-auto. Try and see if you can get a GTR o run 9s using the stock turbos or drop a twin screw on the ZR1. It wll happen soon.

@muffinman2874 Honestly a Saturn V rocket strapped to a car would be pretty damn cool.
