Not sold on MJ. A lot of broad terms and lip service to vastly complex issues. Royce West, on the other hand, seems like he’s been working on solutions for a while now from a wide variety of angles. One candidate is paying attention to what’s happening and taking notes, while the other is all talk.

“How will you end police brutality in 30 seconds” is literally the worst question ever. This is such a huge issue that needs to be talked about and their plans shouldn’t be summed up into 30 seconds smh 🤦‍♂️ soundbite debates are so useless

Wow, wow, wow. Either of these candidates would be a great improvement over Cornyn. I love Hegar and voted for her in 2018. For this race, I will be voting for West. I feel his 17 years of legislative experience gives him a great edge, and he doesn’t just sit and vote, he has initiated a lot of great legislation over the years. He’s also had criminal justice reform listed as a priority on his website from the beginning whereas Hegar only recently added that as a priority. If Hegar wins I will definitely vote for her though. We need her in Congress somewhere!

After watching this debate I have decided to vote for MJ Hegar, I believe She is a strong candidate. If for any reason Royce West wins the Democratic Primary then I will absolutely support Him. Vote Blue

Royce brings the facts to the table and gets straight to the point while Hegar says a lot of words without actually saying anything...more details less platitudes

I like them both! Hard choice. Been donating to Hegar's campaign for awhile since I JUST learned of West. Think I'll vote for West now and then whomever gets the nod in November.

Neither of these two are very strong but at least Royce West does not support fracking. He has my vote out of the two.

Both would be huge improvements over Cornyn, But I think West would be more effective legislator walking in. Would have liked more robust discussion about healthcare, climate change, and campaign finance, but not bad. Happy to vote for either.

I support Royce West. He has been putting in the work to help Texas turn blue.

Royce has been doing the work and I'm glad that he's on board with John Creuzot because they are actually trying to uplift all communities and deal with inequities and racism in a direct way. He has a record to back it up.

Happy I watched this - I knew nothing about the two candidates before. I don't love either one of them, but I'm not vibin' with MJ. There were several incidents where she sounded fake and dishonest. There were some tough questions she chose to dance around. Royce's got my vote
