For close to eight years, Eastern Cape-based lawyer Zuko Nonxuba allegedly stole millions in medical negligence claims paid out by the Department of Health. These significant payouts were intended for his clients – children with cerebral palsy. But as the legal profession’s oversight body apparently dragged its heels, the investigation into Nonxuba’s alleged crimes faltered. That’s when a team of lawyers stepped in.
