The only thing that makes sense is that Zadorov was trying to goad Malkin into taking a penalty. I believe that there was a delayed penalty on Boston when this was taking place. Unfortunately for the Zadorov and the Bruins, the refs went to the video. Both were born in Russia, maybe there's some bad blood between them. They don't mention any trash talking before to poke.

You cannot do that from the bench. Was it penalty worthy, IMO yes. But Malkin's reaction is what happens when someone from the bench does what Zadorov did, and he was wrong. IMO.

Zadorov has no business doing this on the bruins team… if he at least could score or defend then maybe but he has been nothing but a liability this season. An overpaid boat anchor.

Overreacted to a soft poke in the back. Slashing the WRONG guy in the face? Dangerous and definitely an overreaction. (My opinion, anyway)

when i saw malkin get poked in the back i thought it was funny. there is hard and soft padding in the back of hockey pants over the sacral area and spine, so it was what we used to call a love tap. they were just screwin' with him a little. i would have thought it was funny if the pens did it to the bruins. but malkin's stick swinging was dangerous as hell and he should get 5 games anyway for wildly swinging his stick in anger and hitting an unsuspecting guy in the head or face. ( i am a legally blind person after having a separate injury to each eye. usually these injuries happen from innocent and careless actions. when one skater swings his stick at another skater's head it is much more likely to end a career and change someone's life forever -- and for what ? ) the bruins should have buried malkin for that world class over reaction and bush league / beer league cheap shot. BTW, i have always had the greatest respect for malkin's skill and overall play, up until now.
