Provincetown: An eccentric's sanctuary

The Cape Cod vacation spot attracts thousands every summer, and is a longtime haven for novelists, playwrights, artists and eccentrics. Mo Rocca guides us through "P-town."

Some 3000 miles clear on the other side of the country is a community that is the flip side of Ptown, weather-wise. But the same accolades have been attributed to it: Palm Springs, California. Sand dunes and artists with 120 degrees in the summer. Summer in Ptown and winter in Palm Springs for those who use seasons as verbs.

the pilgrims first landed in ptown, but  when they learned how expensive the drinks were, they set sail for Plymouth.

I went there a few weeks ago for the town wide yard sale. It was absolutely amazing. Stores had epic storefront sales and the garage sales had the best stuff. They have it every year. It's so worth going to.

Arts Dune tours was a thrilling ride and tour. I found myself in love with those dune shacks and wanting to HIDE in one for the summer. The whole of Ptown is fabulous.
