After being a long time ubiquiti fan and installer, we have moved to Aruba. We still use ubiquiti ptp antennas but switches and AP's, all Aruba. The integrated cloud controller, multiple vlan's off the AP's, we are a big fan. We have compared performance between ubiquiti and aruba. I believe for comparable models, ubiquiti does have very slight better performance.

great show....a comparison of ubiquiti, aruba and ruckus, wireless access point would be nice ..and their vlan configuration capability would be good to. In my humble opinion.

I have 2 AP22s and 1 AP17s for my shop at home. They are fantastic. We also deploy AP12s for our small to medium sized clients were they are budget minded. Having no licenses to renew is a really nice feature. We use Meraki's for our larger clients.

Amazing review Chris. I got a couple of Instant On for home and I love the simplicity, interfase and security for those Aruba AP.

I would LOVE it if you would go back, factory reset the AP15, and try to add it to your network via the mobile app. It worked so simply for you via the web portal, however, I had a client with 2 AP15s and there was literally NO way to add an additional PoE AP to the network without creating a new SSID. Based on this review, I'd say that that is a shortcoming of the mobile app, but it would be super cool if you could verify while you've got the equipment! Keep up the great work!

@Crosstalk Solutions
a little tip:
Assuming your Synology NAS has an Intel CPU, you could install "Openspeedtest" docker container and you can do tests on your local network. There are a few youtube videos on how to configure

Chris, Love your channel. I am currently playing with aruba AP22 running through ER-X. This video is what made me want to try them. I'm impressed and wow that was easy. How about a video on setting up a segregated IoT network with just Aruba. Looking to get another device AP11D to act like router and replace the ER-X. Keep up the great videos and thank you

Love that it's only spoken out loud as the Eye Dee IoT network!

Great video! A couple of questions if I might: where does the guest portal run on? Is it "in the cloud" or does it run on the AP itself, like some Ruckus do? And regarding Radius, do you need a connector on your server?

Hey Chris, thanks for this great review. I will definitely look at this devices for future installs

I like that there is some DPI data with this product with the AP alone. With Unifi you need to be running a USG to see any of that data

Great review Chris, good to know that these Aruba products don’t have any licensing fees like cisco or meraki, but as you know me, once with ubiquiti, í´m not looking back, especially when it comes to AP´s . Cheers 🍻

I just picked up an Aruba S2500 (off ebay) and replaced the fans with 40mm Noctua's. Suuuuper pleased with it. Powers up all my Ubiquiti gear and 10Gb SFP+'s work just fine.

Great video as always! Any chance of checking out the Aruba 1930 switches?

Also Meraki Go gear looks interesting but Have not found any informational reviews.

Keep up the great content! Perfect for enthusiasts and SMB which feels really underserved.

I'm not a pro but I just compared the datasheets of the AP12 to the nanoHD. AP12: 5, 4dbi for 5ghz nanoHD: 3dbi for 5ghz The 2, 4ghz antenna on the Ap12 has also more dbi. Does this mean that the range on the AP12 should be a lot better than on the nanohd? I literally just bought a nanoHD and considering its 60€ more expensive I might send it back. A real world comparison would be cool!

Hi Chris, what do you think about the TP-Link Omada series? Looks much like Unifi, controller, AP's, mcuh the same. Did you even used/test them?

Been looking for a replacement of my open mesh devices as they have now gone to only small business channel distribution.
