In this episode, my friend Erik helps me dig out the old foundation under the kitchen floor. It’s a lot of work and it takes several days and loads with a wheelbarrow to clear out. We’ve had loads of snow. LOADS! So I’m checking in on the guest cabin to see how it’s doing.

Those shavings or sand would be good mulch in flower beds.

Who needs a gym? With all this physical labour you’ll be as fit as a butcher’s dog by next Christmas. Love your videos and thank you for your hard work and sharing your progress in 2023.

Lots of hard work but it will be worth it when you have a warm kitchen.

Great progess with the floor renovation/insulation. If you haven't, a close inspection for possible rot in the syll would be a good idea now that you're already "down there".

Just an idea but it would be interesting for someone in the future to find a “time capsule” from you buried under the kitchen floor, when they go through the same process you are going through 🤔(well of course not the same process as you will have made it much

💕It looks like the house was built onto rocks to help keep it off of the earth💕

I am imagining all the things you can do with those rocks. I live in the "high desert" of the US Southwest area. We do great things with garden design using rocks such as those you excavated. I've banked along the driveway, built small walls in the veggie garden, and a fire-it area. Enjoy.

Hello Marcus and Erik!
Good to see a friend help. Is Erik a childhood friend?
We see those rocks become a wall somewhere on your property! Marcus, protect your body from injury while you work (says us two old people 😊❤)
We enjoy your vlogs so much. Beautiful videography.
With love from Phoenix 🏜️❤

The location of your cabin is very, very beautiful! I'm living in Sydney, Australia, where it's been 35 degrees celsius every day for weeks with almost 100% humidity. I love seeing the snow covered trees all around you. Love your videos 🙂
