Great video. My mother encountered Raymond once at the Los Angeles Airport, about 1960. She was there to pick up my father who was away on a business trip. She said that Raymond was a very cordial man, even to complete strangers.

I still watch re-runs of Perry Mason! He was a really good-looking man with a beautiful voice.

One of the most incredible actors ever. Perry Mason is the best TV series of all time in my opinion. Amazing. There is absolutely no one in Hollywood today that could possibly memorize 75-80 pages of legalese dialog for one show like he did. Never a flub in almost 300 episodes over 10 seasons from 1958 to 1967. Ive been watching since 1965 and two times daily for the last 4 years since metv has been running it. Great cast of characters. No special effects, just superb writing acting and drama

Raymond had one of the best voices of any actor. Deep and rich for sure, but with so much sincerity and feeling and color, if you will.
His radio work was unsurpassed. He could paint pictures in your mind through the radio and make you feel like you were there.

What a wonderful, humble human being. He treated everyone with respect and dignity. I had the pleasure of meeting him only once, he was the type of guy who could make you feel so comfortable in his presence. Not just an amazing actor, but a remarkable human being.

When Raymond was enrolled at the San Rafael Military Academy he became good friends with my dad and uncle and remained close for the rest of their lives. We kids called him Uncle Ray

I graduated from Colorado University at Denver, in May of 1993; Raymond was our Commencement speaker(!!). He was witty and engaging, and the news of his death in September, only four months later, heightened the memory of his shared stories.
His role in "Please Murder Me" against Angela Lansbury was dark, and eerie.

My earliest memories of Raymond Burr was back in the late 50's, sitting next to my grandma watching Perry Mason. I still watch those old reruns and always feel like Grandma's watching with me.

He was an actor with class. He could play a character without being a character. Modern actors could take a lesson from him.

1957 I was 5 years old. I'll never forget when Perry Mason first came on black and white television set my parents owned. My sister who was 6 years old and I were already in bed by the time this came on television. I remember hearing the creepy music they played at the beginning of the program. It really scared the crap out of me. Laugh out loud
