X-Plane 12 in VR | FIRST LOOK

In this video we are taking a first look at Xplane 12 in VR. This is just the demo version as I want to to do a full VR review for Xplane 12 when it is further optimized with patches. I played x plane 12 vr with the quest 2 via the Link Cable.

I have been an instructor pilot of light and ultralight aircraft for over 35 years, and I honestly do not think the graphics of the FS 2020 scenarios are adequate for the real training of light and ultralight aircraft pilots. Microsoft has designed it (rightly) for those who want to play and not for the training of pilots. for this reason it is much better to take the realism of the X-Plane flight model and build on it autonomously some dedicated scenarios. Which is what has been successfully done with the Italian project of the "VFR ESTREMO"

I'm a novice, is there any ai assistance to help you know what buttons or leavers to adjust. I can fly the basic single engine but would like to move up to jets.

Great video! What are the options for rudder axis when using VR controllers in X-Plane 11?
VTOL VR has shown that it is possible to fully implement aircraft controls flawlessly only using the VR controllers. After some practice I am getting much better precision than with my old HOTAS. But I am searching for a sim with more realistic helicopter physics.

hello can someone please help me.
im currently running Xplane12 on my pc... processor i5 8400, 64 bit.
i can run the game Maxed out grahic scenery and it Runs Smooth as butter,
But once i plug in my HTC vive VR..., the game plays really laggy.... and i have to turn everything down.
What can i do to solve this? i love flying in VR.

Do you have to buy the steam version to use VR/best VR experience? I prefer not to buy from steam. Can you please do a quick set up video for VR? My br hardware option is greyed out.

Glad it’s working for you. I have a 4090 and 13600k and can’t get more than about 10fps. Deleted it and just kept rolling with Xplane 11. Wasted $60, but it’s all good.

according to their release Q&A they didn't release any of the VR integration/optimization changes yet.. it'll come in a later patch

It runs on GA but surely does not run as smooth on airliners. Than again try customizing the weather with rain and overcast!!!!

Waiting for the Q3 and Q4 2024 and might invest in a VR head set. And also will be able to buy airplanes quality checked be X-plane 12 team. Thanks for the video.

for some reason when I start in VR the menu is too high to see...also I feel crosseyed when in xplane...this doesn't happen in DCS or IL2...I need to figure out my settings :)
