Haven’t skated in 5+ years and finally trying to join a beer league in my area, watching videos like this gets me pumped up

Damn, this is way different than my beer league championship games... ours are super chippy. Tons of guys taking it too seriously. It's nice hearing you compliment the other teams plays and showing good sportsmanship. I'm out there watching my back knowing it gets heated so quickly lol

So nice to watch! I’m 38 years old, I never played hockey in a team… just for fun a couple time per year. It’s been 12-15 years since I play last time… but now I have a little 6 years old girl and she started skating and I’m so hyped!! I just buy a new pair of skates CCM XF90, an helmet, a stick and a puck! I’m going to the rink every week to practice and I hope I can join a beer league somewhere in 2025!!

Love the quick tip about cycling the puck. And it’s pretty sick that y’all have music during stoppages!

Really nice footage, nice gameplay, and it seems like everyone there is having a good time. I'm looking for POV beer league to help my own game and this is perfect, thanks for the inline tips too, really helps.

Luke tip #1…don’t turn it over at the blue line. Bouncing puck off the goalies helmet was close to a game winner. Very close.

I cant believe you guys get overtime in Hockey finder, I played in the championship and we went to shootouts right after. We lost.. but it was still awesome.

Watching this to get hype for beer league. It’s been 10+ years since I played for a team. Skating open ice and pickup hockey first though to get warmed up

I just started playing hockey finder…I’ve been playing AHA for the last 8 years. It’s a different pace and intensity. Team structure is better but holy crap you never know if someone is gonna send a muffin at you or a laser! 😂

At 2:19 what are you doing?

The moment you have that half-second when you are close enough to the net that your likelihood of scoring is pretty high and your likelihood of a SOG is basically 100%, and you are at a plenty good enough angle to where you have the ability to beat the goalie glove side or blocker side (theoretically), and you have just made the defender give you that tiny window at just the right time, you gotta pull the trigger and go straight to the net immediately afterward. Put it on the net. Make him make a save. And if he does save it, there's a good chance that there will be a juicy rebound that sits right there out in front. All you gotta do is locate the puck and bang in the junk. You're the shooter. So, you have the advantage in locating your rebound because you know where your shot is going before anyone else does. Plus, if that rebound comes out anywhere in front, you'll be the first one there every time as long as you don't shot-watch and you go straight to the front of the net as fast as possible. The defensemen will always need to read what you did, then turn and skate to tie you up in front. That means that you will be there first and it means that you should get at least one unmolested swing at the puck, if the rebound trickles out in front of the net. Don't be a dummy either. Don't charge to the get the rebound and then allow yourself to glide away from the front of the net. You need to stop hard right in front and you need to stay there until the play is such that the defensemen leave that area due to you no longer being a threat for whatever reason: If you turn the puck over. If y'all still have the puck, but there's a bad pass where the puck leaves the zone. Those sorts of things. But, as long as y'all have it, stay right there in front.

And another thing: It's insane that you don't realize that as a team, if y'all would just play basic, fundamental hockey, and all of you stopped trying to puck handle past multiple defenders in order to try to deke the goalie, and you all put lots of pucks on the net by shooting with defenders in front of you, and then you kept getting bodies CAMPED OUT in front of their net, then I promise you that you would run the table with no problems whatsoever.

And hey, every goal is scored via the puck being shot. If you don't shoot, you don't score. So, that means that more shots means more chances to score. You don't need everything to be perfect in order to shoot. By not being happy with shooting when you have a decent look like you do here, you are squandering chances and ending up with nothing. You should be putting the puck on the net when you have the chance from a good distance and angle. And if a defenseman is still infront of you, don't try to get by him before shooting. Just pull the trigger when you're at a decent enough angle and distance. These are fundamental things. USE THE FUNDAMENTALS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. FUNDAMENTALS ARE WHAT MAKE THE PROS PROS. THEY DO NOT PLAY HERO-HOCKEY AND THEY ALWAYS GO WITH THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES. ANYTHING BESIDES IS JUST A BAD DECISION.

Good luck!
