Texas mall shooting: At least nine victims confirmed

Law enforcement is investigating an active shooter situation at an outdoor outlet mall in Allen, Texas, Saturday.

The Allen fire department transported nine victims to a medical facility, officials confirmed in a press conference, but other victims may have been transported in private cars. WFAA television reported that police on the scene said the victims included children.

Medical City Healthcare, a Dallas-area hospital system, said in a written statement it was treating eight people between the ages of 5 and 61. Their conditions were unknown.

Hopefully the Uvalde officers feel deep shame every time a story like this comes out where the officer does his job and puts his life on the line to protect his community and stop the shooter.

That cop that "happened" to be there on another call. Can you imagine if he was not there? Many more would have been killed. A true hero is not a baseball player, a movie star or famous person. A hero is someone who either sacrifices his or her own life to save others or puts his or her life in danger to save others. That officer is a true hero.

My family and I were shopping about 10 miles away from the outlet stores while this happened. We go there all the time. I can't imagine what those people went through.

I live close by and the mall entrace and exit is always a nightmare. Lived here about 5 yrs and only been there 4 times due to bad traffic and crowds.. The shooter was a monster and definitely crazy to think he would escape alive It's Literally like a maze. Prayers for comfort and strength to the victim's family 🙏🏽

They were bending backwards not to say anything about the gunman, or the weapon used at that “news conference.” Other than finally finding out how many were killed, nothing we didn’t know. Makes me wonder what about the guy made them so desperate to not mention a word — not his age, or where he WORKED….
